Job Title: Development Assistant                                                                          Classification: Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Development Assistant reports to the Director of Development and supports the planning, organizing, and implementation of all CCF-LA client development and management efforts including the Donor-Advised Fund and other programs for individuals, the Agency Fund relationships with organizations, and the gift-planning products spanning multiple generations. The Development Assistant works with the Development Team to support all staff as needed. 

MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:

  • Draft prospect and client correspondence and proposals, ensuring quality and accuracy in all products
  • Assist in planning and implementing social media and other digital outreach efforts—blogging, CCF-LA website updates, Facebook postings, and LinkedIn account maintenance
  • Respond to client and prospect inquiries and keep the Development Team closely apprised on all activity including timely preparation of call memos and addressing action items
  • Assist in endowment and other campaign mailings according to timelines with list preparation, printed materials, and follow-up
  • Manage communications with the Development Advisory Commission for the Board— schedule calls and meetings, prepare agendas, and draft meeting minutes
  • Maintain current and accurate electronic and hard files for all prospects and clients
  • Provide administrative support for the Development Team including maintaining the master calendar, email communications, scheduling, and follow-ups
  • Support special events as assigned
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Perform other related duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1–2 years office and customer-service experience
  • Experience with social-media platforms: Facebook, LinkedIn, blogging, etc.
  • A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated research and writing skills
  • A team player with high energy and passionate about the mission of CCF-LA and the Church
  • Sensitive to confidential information and the needs of those served by CCF-LA
  • A “self-starter” who is goal-driven to achieve individual and team objectives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Driving an automobile
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds (files, computers, mailings, etc.)
  • Sitting for extended periods at a computer

Job Title: Intern                                                                                                                                                       Classification: Nonexempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Intern preforms a range of tasks related to development, research, donor relations, and the grant-making process. This position reports to the Director of Development and is a temporary, entry-level position.

MAJOR DUTIES OF POSITION:

  • Using the Internet and other available resources to complete assigned research projects
  • Input accurate information into the client database
  • Support special events as assigned
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of client communications
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and product development
  • Assist with daily organizational operations
  • Perform other related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to navigate Internet search engines and content quickly and efficiently
  • Typing and data-entry skills
  • Attention to detail and good written communication
  • Relational database experience preferred
  • Confidentiality and discretion in business matters pertaining to donors and grantees
  • Team player with high energy and passion for the mission
